Why Can’t I Access a Feature? Common Limitations Explained

Matchouse Features Are Role-Based

Matchouse offers different tools depending on what role you’ve selected and how your profile is set up.

If you can’t access a feature, here are the most common reasons:


1. You Haven’t Selected a Role Yet

Some features only unlock after you choose a role like:

  • Landlord

  • Buyer

  • Tenant

  • Service Professional

  • Estate Agency

  • Service Seeker

Solution: Go to your Profile Settings and select the role that best fits how you want to use the platform.


2. Your Role Doesn’t Support That Feature

Each role is designed with tailored tools. For example:

  • Only Landlords and Estate Agents can post property listings

  • Only Service Professionals and Estate Agents can post service offers or view job leads

  • Only Estate Agencies have team chat controls

If you’ve chosen the wrong role, you can update it in your settings.


3. Your Profile Setup Is Incomplete

Some features remain hidden until key steps are completed, such as:

  • Verifying your email

  • Completing your profile details

  • Setting your lead preferences or service areas

  • For agencies: submitting your agency profile for approval

Tip: Check for prompts or alerts at the top of your dashboard guiding you on what’s missing.


4. You’re Trying to Access a Paid Feature

Some tools may be part of a credit-based or subscription-based feature, such as:

  • Unlocking lead contact details

  • Boosting your profile visibility

  • Accessing multiple service categories

These will be clearly labelled with pricing info if applicable.


5. The Feature Isn’t Available on Mobile Yet

Occasionally, certain advanced settings are only available on desktop while the mobile version is being updated.

Solution: Try switching to the desktop site or check back after the next mobile update.
