1. What personal information does Matchouse collect?

We collect only what’s needed to provide our services securely:

  • Location data for matching and visibility

  • Profile information like role, skills, or property details

  • Communication data within the platform

  • Optional ID verification documents (for trust-building purposes)

We do not collect unnecessary personal or financial information without your explicit action (e.g., during payment or verification).


2. Is my contact information visible to others?

No. Your phone number and email are never publicly displayed.

Only after a successful match or accepted lead, some users may get limited access depending on your interaction, role, or transaction (e.g., buyer and estate agent chatting in a lead chatroom).


3. Who can see my profile?

Visibility depends on your role and settings:

Role Profile Visibility

Landlords

Public (with listings) or private (profile match only)

Estate Agents

Public (via agency profile)

Service Professionals

Public (via service offers)

Tenants, Buyers, Seekers

Only shown through profile matching – not publicly browsable

4. How secure is the Matchouse chat system?

Very. All messages are:

  • End-to-end encrypted

  • Stored securely with no external sharing

  • Monitored by automated systems to prevent spam or abuse (not read by humans unless flagged)

We never sell or share your chat content with third parties.


5. Can I delete my data?

Yes. You can:

  • Edit or delete parts of your profile at any time

  • Request full account deletion from your Account Settings

  • Contact support for full data removal in line with UK GDPR and EU data laws

Once deleted, your data will be permanently removed from our active systems.


6. How does Matchouse use my data?

Your data is used only to:

  • Match you with relevant listings or service offers

  • Improve platform features

  • Prevent spam, fraud, or abuse

  • Provide customer support and communication

We never use your personal data for external marketing or third-party advertising.


7. What about ID Verification? Is it mandatory?

No, it's optional — but highly recommended.

  • Verified profiles (Landlords & Service Professionals) get more visibility and trust

  • It costs a small one-time fee (£3.99)

  • Your documents are stored securely and never shared publicly


8. Can I limit my visibility on the platform?

Yes. You can:

  • Pause or remove listings or offers

  • Choose whether your profile appears in matches

  • Adjust notification and communication preferences in settings

Your profile is only active when you want it to be.


9. Does Matchouse comply with GDPR?

Absolutely. Matchouse is fully compliant with:
