Most listings on Matchouse go live instantly. However, some are reviewed by our moderation team before appearing publicly. This ensures quality, trust, and spam-free discovery for all users.

Your property listing or service offer may be held for review if:

  • It’s missing required information (e.g. rent, description, service category)

  • It includes unverified contact details or external links

  • Images are low quality, irrelevant, or watermarked

  • It contains prohibited words, pricing irregularities, or potentially misleading claims

  • You’ve made frequent edits in a short time (to prevent spam or manipulation)

  • It's your first time posting as a new user

⚠️ Platform Rules for Listings and Services

To keep Matchouse fair and trustworthy for everyone, all users must follow these guidelines when posting:

Key Rules

  • No duplicate listings or services across roles or accounts.

  • No off-platform contact info (emails, phone numbers, or links in titles or descriptions).

  • No fake or misleading listings — including properties not available or services not offered.

  • No copyrighted images or watermarked photos without permission.

  • No pricing tricks like £0 listings to boost visibility.

  • No personal details in public listings like full names or WhatsApp numbers.

  • Only eligible roles can list:

    • Landlords and Estate Agents can post property listings.

    • Service Professionals and Estate Agents can post service offers.


✅ Best Practices for Fast Approval

Want your listing to go live quickly? Follow these steps:

  • Use clear titles with no ALL CAPS or emojis

  • Add at least 3–5 high-quality images (for properties)

  • Provide a complete, honest description of your service or property

  • Set a reasonable price — unrealistic pricing may be flagged

  • Choose the right categories and service areas

  • Avoid using placeholder text like “TBC” or “Coming Soon”


🤖 Algorithm & Quality Monitoring

Matchouse uses a combination of human moderation and algorithmic signals to maintain platform quality. Listings may be periodically re-reviewed based on:

  • Reports or feedback from other users

  • Sudden changes to price or content

  • Unusual behaviour patterns (e.g. spam activity or rapid listing deletions)


📥 What If My Listing Is Rejected?

If your listing or service offer is not approved, you’ll receive a notification with the reason and how to fix it. Common issues include:

  • Low-quality images or missing photos

  • Incomplete or vague descriptions

  • Incorrect role for the listing type

  • Contact info in the description (use chat instead!)

Once corrected, you can resubmit for approval.


🔐 Can I Appeal a Decision?

Yes. If you believe your listing was flagged in error, simply:

  1. Edit the listing with clarifications or corrections

  2. Use the live chat to request a manual review by our team

We aim to respond to appeals within 24 hours.

Go to your Dashboard and view your listings. You’ll see whether each one is live, paused, under review, or needs edits.
