Understand Service Leads and Profile Leads
Learn the difference between matched customer requests and direct profile interest, how to evaluate each opportunity and how access works.
Last updated About 1 month ago
Matchouse can connect professionals and businesses with customer opportunities in more than one way. A service lead comes from a job or service request that may match your lead preferences. A profile lead comes from a person showing direct interest through your public presence.
Service leads
A service lead begins when a customer posts a job or service request. Matchouse can use the request details, selected service, customer answers and location together with your lead preferences to identify potentially relevant professionals or businesses.
The lead summary can help you evaluate the opportunity before paying to open it. Review:
- Requested work
- Location and travel fit
- Timing
- Customer answers
- Access price or included allowance
An active Pro plan includes 3 service lead opens each month. An active Business plan includes 5. Credits can be used for additional opens or when no monthly allowance is active.
Opening a lead gives you the contact and response options shown for that opportunity. It does not guarantee the customer will reply or choose you.
Profile leads
A profile lead reflects direct interest in your public profile, service or a supported contact action. The person has already discovered you, so review the profile or service context before responding.
Profile visibility, clear services, useful posts, reviews and current availability can help a visitor decide whether to make contact. These signals do not guarantee a profile lead.
Set which service leads you receive
Use Lead settings to choose:
- Services
- Service keywords
- Excluded customer answers
- Locations and radius
- Service-specific location rules
Matchouse may use automation to assist with categorisation and relevance. Private matching weights are not published.
Evaluate an opportunity
Before opening or responding:
- Check that the work is within your expertise.
- Confirm the location and timing are realistic.
- Review the customer's answers.
- Check the access cost or included allowance.
- Decide whether you can respond promptly and clearly.
Do not open every lead without reviewing it. A smaller number of suitable opportunities can be more useful than a high number of poor matches.
After opening a lead
Respond with relevant information about the requested work. Ask only the questions needed to understand the job and avoid sharing or requesting sensitive data unnecessarily.
Keep the conversation in Matchouse while the details are being established. Use the signed private contact card when you need to share contact information with the selected recipient.
